This release again features two wines made with the help of (and frankly, at the insistence of) our two boys: Caleb, who turns seven later this month, and Drew, who turns five in May. Making these wines with our boys remains I think the purest expression of joy in the course of our work. Seeing their eyes light up at sunrise over the vines at Shake Ridge, and sharing a picking bucket with Lore Olds at Sky Vineyards on his 50th harvest anniversary, is such a treasure. If those wines taste like love and hope and determination, that’s just a little bit of Caleb and Drew in each bottle – you’re seeing our wonderful vineyards through their very young eyes.

Our 2025 Sky Vineyards Grenache Rosé comes, as always, from the only block of Grenache at Sky Vineyards which Lore lovingly refers to as “Caleb’s Block.” If you’re looking for the most precious wine we make, this is it.  At less than 30 cases produced, this remains our smallest-production wine and certainly our most tightly allocated. And per usual, the wine is a stunner, pulsing with life and energy, which is only befitting the love and energy poured in to this wine.
